Diet Therapy is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Your information will not be shared with others unless you have given your permission to do so.

This privacy policy sets out how Diet Therapy uses and protects any information that you give Diet Therapy when you complete subscribe to one of our email newsletters, download one of our resources, complete a client information form (in our office or online), in correspondence eg via email or phone and in your consultation with your dietitian.

  • This information is required to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
  • The main reason the information is collected from you is to enable us to provide you with a quality service and personalised advice. The information collected allows to properly assess your situation, provide appropriate information and advice, and assist you in achieving your goals.
  • The information provided might also be used for administrative purposes in running our business and for correspondence with you (including appointment reminders).
  • With your permission we may report back to your referring doctor or discuss your health issues with others involved in your health care including doctors, specialists and other health professionals.
  • If you are referred under a Medicare Care Plan or Department of Veterans Affairs we are obliged to report back to your referring doctor; if your consultation is a referral via Depart of Veterans Affairs, DVA may request a copy of your report. If you are referred by Work Cover, a report of your progress may be required by your insurance team.
  • Internal record keeping for continuity of care.
  • We may periodically send promotional email about special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.

  • We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
  • We will never sell your information or share it with third parties unless required by law.

  • You can choose not to provide any information requested, however failure to do so may compromise the quality of care you receive
  • You can request that we do not discuss the information that you have provided with your referring doctor or other members of your health team, however this may compromise the quality of care you receive; the exception to this is obligatory reporting to your referring doctor forMedicare, DVA and WorkCover, or if required by law.
